Hi,
I'm trying to integrate an Aqara U200 Smart Lock with my Hubitat C-8. The lock natively supports Matter over Thread and I have it linked to Apple Home. I was able to pair the U200 with my C-8 but it only shows as a "Device". I tried to change the device type to a Generic Matter Lock but that doesn't seem to be a supported device type. Any hints on when support for Matter compatible locks will be added or other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Yes. That is the lock I'm trying to integrate with the Hubitat through Matter.
I have it linked to Apple Home and control of the lock works perfectly from that platform.
Thanks
Just giving a bump here. I have the same lock and config. I don't know what device type to select and in its current state there is no usable data in the device
I have this lock too , it’s spec suits me. so another upvote
Hi! I am also considering buying this lock but I am not sure if I will be able to control it via Hubitat.
I have not been successful integrating it through Matter because the Hubitat doesn't include support for Matter compatible locks yet. However, there are avenues I haven't had the time to pursue at this time. Per @kkossev , there is the possibility of integrating it through HomeKit. I expect that Hubitat will add support for Matter compatible locks in time but I don't know when that might occur. It could be right around the corner or the Hubitat development team could be focused on other priorities for upcoming firmware releases.
I can tell you that the U200 does work with HA.
I am following this post. I have the U200 also that it paired as a generic zigbee lock. Just shows a device but no ability to control it. I am a HE newbie so i am not much help but thought i would post my same experience as the original poster.
Aqara U200 uses Matter over Thread for communication, the Generic Zigbee Lock driver will not work. Are you using any of the 'big three' home automation platforms (Apple, Google, Amazon Alexa) ? You should make the U200 work first with one of these platforms, then it will be possible to integrate to Hubitat using virtual switches or other workarounds.
Yes, I use Alexa. I do have it setup in alexa so I can lock and unlock it. I am a new user of HE. I bought this platform mainly because I wanted more consistent connectivity and expanded rules/routines. I have many wifi devices that I understand now need to setup a virtual switch or IFTTT. If these wifi devices are working with Alexa consistently what is the advantages of setting them up thru HE? Wanting to know the advantages as I have never done either of those connection protocols before and not sure what it really does for me side from using one app and better manipulation of routines. Most the wifi devices are on/off uses.
I just purchased the U200 through a Black Friday deal on Amazon. Any updates to it's usability with HE? I do run an Aqara M3 Hub and Alexa as well.
I got the u200 last year but had issues setting it up with Google home. Left it for months then just tried this week and it finally connected to google home. Now trying to add it into hubitat, but stuck after entering the matter setup code.
Hubitat doesn't currently support Matter locks.
I was looking to buy this lock but if HE can't support it directly and locally, then it's a thumbs down for me
If you run Home Assistant as well or would like to try it there might be the possibility of connecting the lock to Home Assistant via matter. Then bringing the lock back into Hubitat via the Home Assistant Device Bridge. You would then have local control inside Hubitat.
I use this method with the Aqara U100 locks that are Zigbee. I bring them into HA via matter through an Aqara hub then into Habitat via HADB.
