Aqara contact sensor P2

I've only tested Amazon and Google thread border routers. In my testing Amazon works much more reliably than Google's.

I haven't tested Apple's yet.

I bought a ipod mini today got home unwrapped and started setup. My wife then tells me she has a ipod max and points at it!! my problem is I do not have an iphone and my wife is Chinese and her phone is in Chinese, I also do not want to screw up her phone. I have a mac laptop and mac mini but I have accept the invite on a iphone or ipad. I have an old iphone how do i configure it to have a 2nd user with my apple id? thinking i get it running on wifi accept the invite then use home app on my mac all of this to play with matter!! :>

If you’re the primary account, why do you need to accept an invitation?

Old iPhones must be able to run iOS 17. If you have that, it can be the primary account as well as your laptop and Mac Mini. The computers have to run MacOS Sonoma.

ok I got logged into my apple account on the phone it is ios17.1.1 and connected to wifi. should i be able to receive the invite now? I sent the invite to myself from my wifes phone. and have not received an invite on the phone I'm logged into. again wifi only!!

Is your wife’s Apple ID the primary account? I’m confused about how you’re choosing to set this up. Why your wife’s phone? Who’s the tech savvy person here? They should be the primary account.

WiFi only doesn’t matter. What matters is that everyone that participates has to have an active iCloud account.

solved my apple problems. this was all getting a homepod connected. I talked to apple support removed from my wife account, factory reset the homepod and connected to a temporary iphone that doesn't have service. all this because apple requires an ipad or iphone to setup an homepod. but after setup you can use the mac app home to manage it!! OMG. I HATE WALLED GARDENS

now i have a TBR to test matter with since google TBR is flaky

Now I understand. This was where my confusion stemmed from. You bought a HomePod Mini, not an “iPod mini”.

Glad you got it working.

yes Ipod homepod iphone ipad. I miss typed.. and I still need to have the iphone to manage matter devices. Grrrr walled gardens!! :>
