Any way to get my Hubitat Hub to make an announcement on my Apple HomePods?
Not yet. TTS to HomePod should be coming later in the year hopefully

Just a caution that the staff have made no public statements re: coming availability of HomePod TTS, and there is no known timeline.
It wont be elegant and it’s not TTS, and requires Apple Music… but yes you can get it to work

Maybe, but it does work. Besides I have far more finicky and convoluted automations in my environment than this. If it makes the OP happy your horrible is their heaven.
I mean it's horrible because it honestly barely works. Cuts off sound, delays in loading... maddening.
You saved me a lot of time in screwing around with this. I need a reliable TTS solution that is not a resource hog. Current thinking is convert all rules that use voice to Alexa Routines so I can use Alexa Says natively in an Alexa routine. Already converted my "You've got mail!" notification. Some of the others are going to be really complicated. I have this entire voice enabled coffee brewing thing with complex logic. Sigh.
