With widgets I can add one to my iPhone and it works as expected. The automatic gate opener will activate and open/close. However, when I add the same Hubitat widget to my Apple CarPlay screen it changes the button from off to on or vice versa on CarPlay but does not change the button in the HE app or activate the device. I've tried the gate opener and a regular light switch but both fail to work. What am I missing? Thanks!!
Are you adding widgets from the Hubitat app itself or via Apple Home? Unless they recently added the feature to the Hubitat app I did not think you could add device widgets with it.
I can verify this. iPhone 17 Pro / iOS 26.5.
The CarPlay setup in iOS settings allows for widgets to be added to the CarPlay screen. Hubitat is on the list, with the only widget allowed being the control of a single device.
I added my garage door open/close virtual switch, which triggers a rule that opens/closes the garage door. It would show on or off, but did not actually work.
Peripherally related, I just attempted this with my Zooz app'ed gate and garage doors-not even shown as a check box option. Only real and virtual devices?
It looks to me like it’s only switches, real or virtual.
I added widgets on my iPhone and they work. I add widgets through Settings>General>CarPlay>Device and they don't.
Tried a porch light switch and it didn't work either.
