I have a couple rules to "automatically" control a couple cell phone chargers via smart plugs.
Turn on at x time, turn off at y time. Push the button to start charging, stop after x time.

After trying to explain the rules to someone else I thought it would probably be better (and a lot more intelligible) if they could just install an app. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

So if someone would be interested in writing such an app that would be great.

Select an Outlet.

Option: Select a button.

Input Daily time On/Off.

Input Time Off after turned on.

That's it.

Or if a user app already exists, a link would be great.

You'll need something else to turn it on (a Basic Rule would work, either based on time of day or your button event), but the built-in Power and Energy Monitoring "Maximum Usage" app can do the rest:

Adding an "on at time" option (or maybe "on with some event") to this would get you all of what it sounds like you want, but I'm not sure if that fits in with the theme of the parent (or this child app), but I'll think about this more. :slight_smile:

I do feel like a lot of people don't even know that this one exists, though!

Easy to write a webcore piston for this. But the app already exists. Perfect.
