Anyone try Lutron Caseta Shades (not Serena)

I was thinking of getting a SmartWings shade but I just heard Lutron is making a new Caseta line of shades that is much cheaper than their Serena line.

Has anyone tried them? Anyone know how they compare to SmartWings and/or the Serena?

Will they work with Hubitat? If so, will it require having the Pro hub?

Looks like they’re taking pre-orders and not shipping quite yet.

They will probably work with Hubitat as well as any other Lutron device.

The Lutron integration with Hubitat requires a Telnet connection. The Pro hub (formerly known as the Caseta Pro bridge) can make that Telnet connection. The non-pro hub cannot.

This new product is unlikely to change that requirement.

Just a word of caution. There are devices that pair with the Caseta Pro hub whose status is not shared via the telnet integration. For example, motion sensors.

That is a fair point.

Hopefully as an actuator type device (vs. a sensor) they’ll be included in Lutron’s Telnet integration.

Since they’re not generally available yet, we’ll probably have to wait and see.
