Anyone automated their fallout shelter hatch?

Seems like it'd be easy to do. Can never be too safe!

I'm not so sure. Automate what? Opening or closing? What would the trigger be?

An increase in radiation levels? Except in the event of a nuke, levels would stay high for a prolonged period. And one would want the hatch to quickly open and then close to let people enter but keep the bad stuff out. But if that open/close happens too quickly then it might not give enough time for an entire group of people to enter.

So I'm leaving mine on manual control

I would say cameras that look for Zombies. Nukes are so 1960.

Well probably IR cameras might be a bust for detecting zombies......

you could use my ecowitt air quality monitor.. assuming it would keep running or there was enough sun to keep the battery charged.
