Any way to hide posts from specific users?

Wow you are right! I tried to tag the person that I assumed that the OP was talking about and he/she doesn't show up. Interesting.......

Has anyone figured this out? I would love to ignore / hide one specific user, but their profile is hidden, they don’t show up in searches/tags, and I can’t seem to do it.

Have you tried doing this by going to preferences under your profile? I was able to add a user even if their profile is hidden.

(My only concern with this approach is that if we all end up turning on ignore for offensive users, we won’t be flagging heir posts. Our topics will look great, but new users will see the mess that we’re ignoring and be driven away. Oh well. It’s not my responsibility. I hope the mods will lock it down more soon. It seems the last few months have had a negative influx.)

I agree, however, the leashes are growing short for those problematic users. There'll always be someone around to flag those posts. Sometimes it's better for someone to ignore a user rather than react badly to their responses and exacerbate the situation further. That, in itself will drive new users away. IMHO

This has been difficult for me in the beginning .. But totally agree with you.. I used to jump in.. But now have learned to stay away from certain topics and individuals.. And things stay calmer.. Including my blood pressure

So many of the back and forth's are being the most right and semantics. I try had not to be anti-semantic, but sometimes it is hard to not respond.

Agree as well....but....sometimes I can't help myself...especially when someone keeps at it for a while. A few posts I can ignore but after a while I feel like I need to say something.
I should know better because it rarely leads to that person doing any kind of self reflection and usually just results in a low level response. But hey, I'm hard headed like that and try anyway.

Oh for sure. 100% on that. And that's what I meant about sometimes people choose to ignore a user rather than put themselves out there. Me, on the other hand .. I'll speak my peace. But I've eaten crow and owned it all the same. It's a slippery slope.

Actually I felt terrible suggesting the pie thing. I had crows as pets when I was a wee one. More fun than a dog, just as affectionate and once you had taught them to fly, didn't need feeding or walking. They would tap on my bedroom window at sun up and fly to my shoulder when I got outside. We would spend the day just hanging out. They love to play and love playing tricks even more.
