Any cigarette smoke zigbee or Zwave detectors

Im looking for the above as condo assoc. just passed rules outlawing smoking on balconies which unfortunately make it more likely the bastards will now smoke IN our rental condos.

A smoke detector or air quality sensor.

Smoke detectors dont detect.cigarette smoke and air quaility is also not great either as would have many false alarms.

Of course they can detect cigarette smoke, it depends how smoky the room gets.

I’m not sure how likely you are to find an off-the-shelf smart home product for detecting a specific compound in cigarette smoke at the concentrations it’s likely to occur when someone lights a cigarette indoors, though.

Maybe something lower tech that would change color when exposed to something that’s in cigarette smoke but not other household sources of combustion.

Here’s the first thing a google search turned up:

Clearly you’re not alone in terms of the need for such a device, but that one probably doesn’t use zigbee/z-wave. And my guess is it’s mostly a trumped up smoke detector with a creative marketing department.

ETA: Another example that also looks very proprietary/locked down.

This one below is available on Amazon now. The spec sheet says it flips a relay as the interface, so it would be easy to add to Hubitat with any dry contact sensor or a leak sensor.

Edit: That spec sheet was still open in a tab and I noticed that it detects alcohol. I found that is for e-cig vapor since Propylene Glycol is an alcohol. I found it detects Hydrogen because cigarettes emit Hydrogen Peroxide. I was just curious.
