Amazon Echo Skill Reliability Issues

Can anyone explain why the Amazon Echo Skill works well one day and then just completely stops working. I have been having issues with the Hubitat not recognizing my older Z-wave switches that I think got fixed with the Z-Wave Polling app, but there is this other issue that truly baffles me.

I can often control the same device directly from the Alexa app, but with the voice skill, it completely fails most of the time. I never had this issue with the Smartthings V! hub, so I am leaning back that direction.

Any help that would allow me to continue using the Hubitat would be greatly appreciated.

This can possibly be the cause of your issues. The Z-Wave poller works, but creates a lot of traffic on the local LAN. Some have said just joining their Z-Wave devices again until they comply has worked for them. If you have issues with connection to the Echo occasionally not working and you don't have the Z-Wave polling app running, then you have probably just experienced a cloud issue that is par for the course. Usually is works, sometimes it doesn't. That's cloud in a nut shell.

Don't know how long or how heavily you used it, but since they have cloud outages all the time, you could have experienced an issue at any time. Must have been that you just didn't happen to be using your system at the time that their cloud service was experiencing the issues that affected all users. Even though I don't have the hub anymore, I still get the SmartThings emails reporting the issues.
