I use a zwave dry contact relay to "press" my recirculation button on my Rinnai hot water heater display. I soldered wires to both sides of the button and use the relay to push it via virtual device or dashboard. An Arduino could do it as well if you prefer to stick with Wifi.

Would you be able to elaborate a bit more on your setup? I am trying to do the same with my rinnai tankless water heater and recirculation pump, without a fingerbot since I have not found them to be as reliable as needed for this sort of thing.

Basically you solder a pair of wires to both sides of the circ button. Then with dry contact relay closing the relay will “press” the button.

Is that the same controller as mine? Or think it would work the same? Honestly not sure which one is the recirc button….

Yep I have the same controller.

Bottom left button is the manual recirc button.

Once you set this up you can turn off all the schedules. I don't use them at all and they are tied to the shower lights turning on or telling Alexa/Siri to turn on "hot water" which is a virtual switch.
