For the 2nd time in 3 weeks the ZigBee Mesh network went offline, obviously a concern as most of my equipment is ZigBee, however not as much of a panic as last time and within a few minutes had it up and running again.
However, I was again presented with a number of devices, predominantly Iris V1 Contact sensors, that had stopped talking to the hub, the bulk of them dropping off at the same time as the ZigBee mesh went offline, the remainder of them over the next few days.
After 3 days every v1 Iris Contact sensor had disconnected and even though they show up when you reset them they fail to respond and have to be reset, which is a real pain as there are 30+ with around 6 of them within rules (would of been more but the last ZigBee crash made me more cautious)
As you can imagine re-adding 30+ sensors is a real pain, especially those in rules and in Dashboards
Has anybody had this problem before and if so did they find a way of resetting the sensors, without having to re-join them?
I should add, the sensors work fine and other than this, twice, annoying problem and just looking for an easier way to re add them to the system without having to literally re-join them from scratch
This has to do with those being V1's, as the V1's didn't operate within the standardized zigbee protocol, which is why Hubitat had to create a special separated inclusion process apart from the "zigbee device" inclusion on the hub to get them to work.
Thanks for the link, same guy I bought a load of Iris v2 motion sensors from, I have ordered 10 of the v2 contact sensors $85 including shipping and import duty, will use them on anything critical and the v1's on less critical doors/windows
