I have purchased an Alfred lock DB2-B with a Zwave module. I have attempted to pair this with my C7 hub without success. I have replaced the lock per recommendation from Alfdred with a factory sealed set with the same issues. Here are the steps I have taken with the assistance of Alfred tech support:
- Followed the inclusion instructions on Hubitat web interface using a Windows 11 based computer
- Excluded the device, then performed a factory reset per Alfred and Hubitat instructions and attempted to pair the device again.
- The Alfred staff do not understand why the Hub never prompts me for the 5 digit code on the back of the Zwave module. It only acknowledges S2 security and requests that I confirm or cancel the prompt. I have tried both choices and neither choice results in a successful inclusion.
- Each time, after the S2 screen prompt, the Hub identifies a Zwave device and then times out after 100 seconds with an initialization screen.
Hubitat support is working on an update that will likely resolve this but does anyone have a work around?
@mdmasterson First look on your z-wave details page and make sure there are no ghosts.
2nd. What browser are you using? Are there any popup blockers going? I would use chrome or firefox with no enabled plug ins
What platform are you on?
If there are no ghosts, pair the lock within 3 feet of the hub.

Thanks for responding. I did have multiple ghosts from previous attempts which I removed. I updated the hub to the current platform ( 2.3.0.121) I reset the lock after excluding it from zwave. I disabled pop up blocker in Chrome. I am three feet from the hub. I still get the following message without a prompt for the zwave module code:
Device has S2, to securely include your device, then click Confirm. Otherwise click Skip to proceed without secure inclusion.
I have tried both "Confirm" and "Skip" choices without success.
Thanks for your help
When it give you the prompt for s2 or skip, is there a space in there?

Assuming this is a C7 Hub...
I also assume this lock has Smart Start (I believe it should due to being S2). Did you try scanning the Smartstart barcode using the Hubitat app and see if it would include that way?

No space to enter the 5 digit code. Thanks.
I would try what @neonturbo suggested and use the smart start code on the product manual/box (make sure there are no previous ghosts obviously and for good measure, shut down hub from settings menu, unplug at wall (not hub) for 20 mins and power back up before scanning. This will clear the z-wave radio out...

Just to add, there is usually another step like starting with a factory fresh or fully reset device. Then after scanning that code you plug the device in, add batteries, or possibly some other procedure. The manual for the device should outline this.
I have not tried Smartstart with this particular device, so I am afraid I can't get more specific than the above.
OK the Smart start worked. Thanks to all for your fantastic help. I have learned a lot from you. I truly appreciate all your time and support.

Glad you got it working. Save that smart code in a safe place...
