I am changing from Wink to Hubitat and it is going very bad. I have several devices connected to the Hubitat and I have enabled the Amazon skill. I am able to control other lights and locks but when I try to control the Osram LED strip it says "You must enable the skill for Desk Light" (desk light is the strip's name.) It is is included in the alexia app and I am able to turn it on and off and control the brightness, but not the color, from the dashboard. It worked fine with the Wink hub color change and all. Please help
@user1977 You want to pair the osram strip light to hubitat, then in the Amazon Echo skill on hubitat expose that light to alexa. Then you will be able to control it via alexa.
Welcome to the community!
It might be the driver you are using.
Go to Hub owners - Hubitat, join the group and then post a screenshot of your device page, including Device Information.
I did all of that but it still does not work
Try renaming and see what happens.
I have renamed it a few times and I have removed the skill and app and reinstalled them also.
Make sure that you don't have a pre-existing device in Alexa called "Desk Light" that is a remnant from your Wink integration with Alexa.
I've seen a few others do something similar and run into the same issue.
ALexa tries controlling that pre-existing device, and naturally, it fails.
Hmm I wonder if the Wink skill is still installed on his Echo
I did uninstall all wink skills. From the echo.
Did you delete the old devices from the Echo?
I just changed the name again but then did a hard reboot on the hub and it worked! Thank you all so much. I still canโt change color but at least it turns on and off and dims!
That's a problem.
As @Ranchitat requested, please post a screenshot of the device page, particularly the Device Details section.
