Alexa not working

Hello. I was just wondering why my alexa voice control is not working. It was working before. However, after changing my firewall to opnsense from sophos UTM. It stopped. I removed echo skills from hubitat. Then disabled hubitat in alexa app. Tried to enable hubitat skills again, but I kept getting unable to link to alexa. I didn’t install echo skills app manually in hubitat as alexa should do it.

Siri works (via homebridge), node red works.

Do I need to port forward anything? I allowed my hubitat to go everywhere. I unblocked amazon services from my dns filters. I don’t see anything unusual on my firewall. Please help. Thanks

Follow the steps in the documentation linked below.

I followed this to the T but I keep getting “Unable to link to Alexa.” I removed alexa echo skills first on my hubitat, then unlinked hubitat from alexa. Then redid the pairing but still a no go. I only go as far as selecting my Hub. After that, unable to link.

Figured this out. User error. I reviewed my firewall and I’m only allowing all UDP connection. Not tcp/udp. I just hope there is a list of specific ports we can open to make Hubitat work instead of opening all.

You should not need to open/forward any EXTERNAL/WAN incoming ports to allow Hubitat's Alexa integration to work properly. Are you blocking Hubitat's outgoing network ability via your router's firewall? If so, may I ask why?

I have opnsense which defaults to blocking everything. I have to open specific ports like 53 for dns, 80 443 for web browsing. But, in order for hubitat to work, I allowed my hubitat to connect to any outbound ports.

At first, all did was open up those 3 ports but I was having connectivity issues. Then I (thought) allowed hubitat to use any ports.

For security purposes and best practice, also having teenage nephews full of hormones coming over most of the time, my firewall is very restrictive.
