Nuts, sounds like there are still 2 versions of the mobile app out in the app stores... The latest/newest/go-forward version is the one with the green app-icon background (not white) -- I'm an iPhone user, but I'm pretty sure the same is true for Android.
The SS instructions aren't (IMHO) super intuitive -- that whole bit about doing the initial steps before powering up the device always seems odd to me, so even though I'm now prettty comfortable doing it, I still bust out the instructions every time I add a device.
Jeff P's SS-Manager app is useful for a lot of reasons, but one big one is the ability to create a backup of the DSK info. I additionally keep a picture of each device's DSK QR in a folder on my cloud drive -- that way I always have "just in case" access to those without having to remove the device. For me, that option is easier than saving hard copies of those codes somehere.
AND now, after using the app to turn off the status light on the switch and add it to the Amazon Alexa app, it's no longer working. So the status light change happened after I pushed it back into the box (which is plastic), so I doubt it's a radio problem.
Very frustrated, but time for work, so I'll have to deal with why Hubitat can't control the light 30 seconds later, later. Updates to come (maybe on a new thread, though it kinda feels like the same problem to me).
After switching the dimmer over to "generic", it seems to be working, along with the rest of the switches, though the Z-Wave details look a lot worse than they used to (28 neighbors as opposed to 44). But maybe it's fixed?
So definitely not fixed. I have two ghost devices, one for the switch that died, and one for the new switch when, I guess, it failed to add correctly the first time and I had to use the SS hub-app to add it.
So that brought me to this thread, Pending Z-Wave node. Can't remove, and I'm unable to add the Zooz 800 USB stick to the mesh to follow the instructions in the ghost removal doc.
Is it time to factory reset every switch and outlet in the house, along with the Hubitat, and build everything up again from scratch???
