Aeotec Trisensor: Battery Level Only Reads 1

Hello,

I bought a few or the Aeotec Trisensors when Samsung stopped selling their cheap sensors. They've worked fine but I implemented some battery tracking logic for all my battery devices and the two trisensors keep triggering my tracking because the battery only reads "1" on both devices. Is this a bug in the driver? All of my other battery powered devices usually indicate battery life by a 0-99/100 scale.

Sure I can take the trisensors off the battery monitoring but then that begs the question, how will I EVER know when the battery is low on these devices?

Am I missing something?

mine is as expected, I think:

mine is joined no security, but that's only going to affect the communications not the content OF the communications.

...interesting well then perhaps this IS on my end. The firmware updater failed on both of these. Let me look at/try a few things.

I have had the same issue. I think it's just a flaw in their battery reporting. However, I do usually replace the batteries. And when I do I wait about a minute between pulling the old one out and sticking the new one in.

I couldn't find a way to remove the S2 last night so I'm probably going to try to remove and re-add one this morning. I'll probably do a battery swap in the process and see if I can get anything different. Thanks!

Only way to change the security is to exclude and re-include without it (and will probably need a Zstick to do it)…

Alright, I got it working.

When I removed the device and re-added it without S2, I got the correct battery reading. When I removed the device and re-added it with S2, I got the battery reading.

I did NOT change the batteries in the process because it turned out that I didn't have any of these on hand. Once the battery levels started reading correctly in the device screen, I was able to re-implement by battery monitoring for them.

I have no other explanation other than perhaps when I moved these the first time, something got jumbled in the process and wouldn't allow the battery level to display correctly. After full removal and re-add (continuing with S2), I am able to see the correct battery level.

Dang. I added without S2 and I get battery: 1 as well and I'm implementing a battery polling notif too. Since I didn't use S2, I guess the issue was just a dirty inclusion or something in the moving from where I was in proximity to the hub during inclusion and where it lives (which you can guess is the worst possible place to crawl my lazy butt up to get at it).

I have one of these - I have tried adding with and without security multiple times and can never get anything but Battery level 1. Any other tips? Thanks.
