Has anyone heard if Aeotec is going to release the (previous ST) multipurpose sensor?

I just picked up an Aeotec Multipurpose Sensor and it paired fine but it’s crazy sensitive.
The magnet activates the sensor from several cm which makes it really hard to get a good indication if the door is open or really closed.
If I place the magnet as far away as possible, the door still has an open gap of about 2 cm when the sensor indicates closed.
Does anybody know if it’s possible to make the sensor less sensitive and so that the magnet has to be closer before the sensor indicates contact?
I guess it might be possible to replace the magnet for a weaker one. Anyone tried that?

I bought a smaller magnet and used that that so the sensor now workd as I think it should.
I don't understand why Aeotec have such a a strong magnet. This type of sensor is to detect open/closed doors and windows. If a door can be open with a gap of around 3 cm but indicate closed, whats the point?
