Hi all,
been using Aeotec Indoor Siren 6 for some time now. This is the second time where without any obvious reason the siren light comes on and stays ON indefinitely.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing this behavior?
I'm with you on this. This device is driving me nuts. After a few hours stuck in the mode where the light slowly pulses but doesn't play any sounds, and the hubitat device page looks like everything is working fine, it just decided to wake up and play a bunch of the sounds I've been trying to play, and now is currently stuck on "siren" and no amount of button pressing or commands from hubitat will silence it.
I've replaced both of my two locations siren devices 3 times in the last 6 months and the "problems" are seeming to occur more and more often. I'm wondering if this is a hubitat driver issue because my first original unit from early 2020 ran fine for many months without issue. It seems no matter how many times I return and replace with new the same thing keeps happening after a few days.
Sorry to hear you have even worse issues than me @wogfun. I only have light on issues and never any sound issues. I suspect it is hubitat driver issue. @bravenel do you think you can take a look and let me know how I can assists you in debugging?
I'm late to this party, but I'm experiencing the same thing. The siren randomly freezes up. I suspect the device itself rather than the driver because it can't be reset, the tamper alarm isn't functional etc.
So far, the only way I've been able to fix it is to unplug it from the wall and let the battery drain out. It's a nice device when it works, but it doesn't work far too often and I'm about to give up on it.
In case it matters, I'm using a C7.
Any updates on this?

I disconnected the siren from power and after about 12 hours it started flashing (dimly). At that point it was working again. I reconnected power and it was still working and the strobe the usual brightness.

I switched to the new Hubitat driver (Aeotec Siren 6 New) and it is working, but not nearly enough time has passed to know if it is fixed or will fail again at some random point in the future. I'm not particularly optimistic.
@martine do you know or have a link to the differences in the New version of the driver?
-Thanks
They are both built into the Hubitat (no custom code). I'm not particularly familiar with the differences, but..
- The "new" doesn' seem to have component buttons.
- The "new" doesn't have the "intercept the sound after X seconds" (and I really miss it.)
I just changed the device type. Then hit "save device", then "refresh", then "configure", then "refresh" again. I'm not sure how much of that was useful, but it didn't seem to hurt anything.

I continue to have problems with Doorbell 6 freezing up. Worse, when it is working, it jumps in as a repeater and then my further out devices are left without a relay when it freezes again. Is it possible to update the firmware via the Hubitat? Is there even a new firmware version which corrects this problem?
