I have several Wallmote's, both 2 and 4 button. Been great - all them for years. I just got a new 2-button and i am stumped. Setting up the buttons in button controller was usual, no issues. Simple rules, button one turns on a relay and button 2 turns on relay 2. Button 2 if pushed behaves as expected - relay 2 comes on. Press button 1 though and nothing happens. The log shows button one was pushed, but no action on the relay (it has logging turned on too). In device manager, you can see button once being pushed, held, and released, Looks normal as number 2. The remote button 1 is reporting interactions but HE will not fire an action for button 1. I even set up a virtual switch and button 1 will not turn it on either. Appreciate any suggestions - thanks all. jj
Update - it is only button 1 when pressed. If you configure actions to turn on, off etc if "held" button 1 works fine. Any actions defined for button 1 when "pressed" do nothing. So strange; you can see in device manager button one interactions are working perfectly. The remote is reporting to HE the interaction, but HE is not firing the actions defined for "pressed". Again - using "held" is a workaround, it works normally. Very odd. Again - any thoughts are appreciated. jj
I have experienced similar issues with button controller in the past. Removing that particular button and recreating the rule often helps, not sure why. Worth a shot.
Thank you - decided to live with using actions tied to holding the button rather than press - upside potential is the grandkids wont know how to screw with it. Thank you for the feedback jj
