Adguard Home - Hubitat

I'm seeing a ton of these in my adguard home logs...

Any idea what's causing this?

I checked my logs and don't have anything like that. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I posted this in beta (if you have access): https://community.hubitat.com/t/2-4-4-112-c8p-null-dns-requests/161419

I ended up doing a couple of things, it led me to realize I had the bonjour restarts enabled which I then turned off, so turn that off if you do. It should have been forced off for everyone on 2.4.4 update so if you did not manually switch it back on, it should be off.

Make sure you have this "well known DNS servers" setting turned off. I had this on still on accident, I have a DNS redirector on my router which forces everything to Adguard Home. I thought that may have also contributed to the hub getting confused.

Then I rebooted my hub and router, and it stopped.

@gopher.ny another case of DNS gone haywire

Here was one of my screenshots from that post:

Thanks, looks like the well known dns servers was turned on. I’ve since turned that off. With it turned off will it automatically use dns from my router or do I need to specify my routers IP? I have firewall rules to send port 53 to my adguard home server first. I was shocked when I saw 30 million entries. lol

It will use the DNS from your DHCP if that box is blank, which is How I have mine set. My DHCP hands out the AGH server IP. I avoid setting anything manually, that way if I change something in DHCP it just flows to all the clients.

Do you happen to also have an ASUS router with the DNS director? AX68U for me.

Thanks actually I had an ASUS 88u Pro setup in AP mode with vlan support. But I literally just took it offline tonight in favor of a dual Grandstream GWN7674 WiFi 7 Tri-Band AP setup. I use a bare metal N100 with OPNSense for my router.
