Adding deck lighting to my smart home

A couple years ago, I had a deck built and had post cap lighting installed. The installation came with a power supply that you connect to through Bluetooth.

I want to do better than that. The system in question is LMT 1780.

There is a smart home outlet that they sell for this system that seems proprietary. I'm not sure if it works with Habitat.

Have any of you used this product and were successful integrating it into your smart home?

Is there another device that would work? For example, removing the power supply from the setup and using a different one?

The smart home solution from them is Wifi so probably no direct integration. It can link to Alexa though, so you could use a virtual switch and an Alexa routine to control it if you wanted.

With your current setup what happens if you turn the system on, unplug it for 30 seconds or so and plug it back in again? If it turns back on, you could just use any outdoor smart plug to turn it on / off by cutting and restoring power to it.

That is how I made my old Malibu brick lights in the stairs "smart". It has one of those ancient rotary timers and I just removed all the Off pins so it is always on when powered.

I will test the behavior this week. I had a similar thought as you.

The controller that is currently powering the lights has dimming capabilities, has a light sensor, and a few other things that Hubitat could replicate.

Actually powering the lights though, I have to figure out what's needed for that.
