Add OpenWeatherMap data to Hubitat dashboard

Hi folks,

Delving more into what I can do within the Hubitat platform. Recently received some great assistance getting rid of Ghost devices within my mesh network.

I am runnng a C-7 and the platform version is 2.3.6.136.

In the evening time while watching the "Boob Tube", I am going down through the forums and reading posts that catch my eye. I've been playing around with the Mode Manager and Hubitat Z-Wave Mesh Details.

I have a real simple dashboard with only lights added, but read last night about the OpenWeatherMap service. I would like to add some weather detail to my dashboard. I installed a virtual device and selected OpenWeatherMap as the "Type". I created an account and got my OpenWeatherMap API key. The weather information is updating for me with the virtual device:

How do I go about adding weather information to my dashboard? I do not see the OpenWeatherMap virtual device under the "Pick a Device" comumn in the "Add a Tile' section of the dashboard. What am I over-looking?

Thanks,
Paul

First in the Hubitat Dashboard app, add the OpenWeatherMap device to the allowed device list for the dashboard you want to add to.

Then working on the dashboard, you can do a number of things. Play with some of these examples:

Device: OpenWeatherMap
Template: Weather

Device: OpenWeatherMap
Template: Attribute
Attribute: threedayfcstTile

Device: OpenWeatherMap
Template: Attribute
Attribute: condition_iconWithText

Device: OpenWeatherMap
Template: Attribute
Attribute: alertTile

I have a full Weather dashboard that also contains Image pointing to a local TV station's weather map.

Also, there's a Pollen Forecast for today and tomorrow using Pollen Forecaster (search for it if you want).

very generic - but OWM also has a AQI addon, I get my Lux and my sunrise/sunset here and use the long/lat to get realtime weather imagery!

@HAL9000 How are you editing these variables?

I'm not real clear on what you are asking, but looking back on your original post, it appears that you may have skipped a step.

To use any device in a particular dashboard, you must first go to the Hubitat Dashboard app (not the dashboard) and add a list of devices to make available to that dashboard. For example,

@pbdunn1963 use attribute in your tiles...
