I have Lutron Caseta Pro Hub. I am controlling Lutron Caseta lights with Zwave button controller. I have some Picos connected to the Lutron hub to control some Caseta lights. How do I use additional Picos to control Zwave lights. When I try to add device Pico to Hubitat, t just points to me to documentation. I can't find them in Hubitat. I added one to Lutron app, did not assign light.
How do I add this Pico, or the Pico I did not add to Lutron App, to Hubitat so I can use it to control Zwave devices?
Your Pico first has to be added via the Lutron app to the Caseta Pro Hub. Then put that Pico in a "room" with no other Lutron Devices. Then import it into Hubitat using the Lutron Integrator.
The screenshot above looks fine. In your Lutron app on your phone, did you select Add Device from settings and go through the pico setup? Make sure the pico is not assigned to a room with a powered lutron switch, as it will default to pair that wall switch with your pico.
You need to create a "room" in the Lutron app for your pico remotes.
Then, run integration report again and double check in the report that the pico you named is indeed labeled as
"Name" : "Carport Lights",
"ID" : 4
"Area" : {
"Name" : [whatever your remote room name is in Lutron App]
^Mine is called Remotes, see image above.
After clicking done in the Lutron Integrator app, the pico should appear in your device list.
No, that is a Pico that is assigned carport lights in the Lutron App. This is one assigned to Kitchen, nothing else in that room, no lights assigned to it. I don't see a way to add a room called remotes.
You just add it to a random room in the lutron app. Run the integration report to get the id number of the pico and then in HE's lutron integration you put the pico as
p,xx,whatever you name it (where xx is the id number) and click done. That will create the device on hubitat. See example below
You don't have to add those Picos to a new/unique room (e.g. "Hubitat Picos") in the Lutron app -- the Hubitat integration doesn't care about Lutron rooms.
Most of us just do just for sanity's sake -- that makes it easier in the Lutron app to distinguish what's managed in the Caseta app (switches/dimmers/maybe some dedicated-use [e.g. 3-way] picos) versus those blank-slate picos I manage in Hubitat.
OK, the Pico is attached to Hubitat. I had skipped the step to run integration report.
I have another question. There are 5 buttons on this device. One has up and one has down. Can I map a dimmer function to those? I tried -10 and +10 on adjust dimmer but nothing happened.
More info, I am trying to dim Zooz Zen74 S2 Dimmer. I tried using start dimming and stop dimming commands. Does this dimmer respond to this like I want? Dim up until I issue stop dim command?
Hello all, going to ask here, so not to create another thread.
I've just added couple of additional Pico's that will be used as scenes to control variety of devices (that aren't Lutron), used the directions and the info in this thread for usage of button controller -which was very helpful, but i do have one more question. As i create these new scenes, via the button controller (will be multiple scenses, per Pico), i also need them to be able to activate via voice. I have Alexa integration, for voice control and it works fine to control individual devices, but how do i do it here for scenes? Will i be able to import these scenes into Alexa for voice control? Thanks!
I use Hubitat's Groups and Scenes App, which will create a virtual device for each Group and each Scene, IIRC. These Scene 'activator' devices can then be used in your Button Controller App when the Pico button is pushed, and they can also be shared to Alexa via the Amazon Echo Skill app.
Thanks for your reply. So, if I’m understanding you correctly, don’t create the scene in button control, do it via the scene app and then, just assign that scene to a button? I’d so, I like that way better anyway, this was I have all my scenes in one place.
Yes, button controller would be the scene activator. I would also make a virtual switch as the scene activator and expose that switch to what ever voice assistant you're using. Don't expose the pico.
The Groups and Scenes apps are almost, but not quite, deprecated. They’ve been superseded by Room Lighting. The only issue with Room Lighting is that it is a more complex app that incorporates other functionality. RL does have a better display of devices and their settings than the older apps. One way for a newer user to figure RL out is to create a group or scene in the old apps and then import it into the RL app. You’ll see how the settings in the older apps get translated into Room Lighting.
