Add device over mesh or bring to hub?

Hi all,

I want to install a light switch to my hubitat hub. The location of the switch is going to be too far away to connect directly to the hub, but should work over the mesh network that I have created between the hub and the switch location. However, when first adding to switch, do I need to install it in a location right by the hub, or will it be able to find it through the mesh network?

Most of the time it should be able to pair across the mesh. Exceptions to this tend to be locks or other devices that go into “whisper” mode when pairing.
