I use an API integration with my Abode home security system with the Abode 2024 user driver. I did not need one of the contact sensors and removed its child device from HE devices. I am trying to figure out how to get that child device to show up again. Tried rebooting HE and Abode, logging out and in to abode from the abode driver, turning off child devices and back on only to lose all of them breaking many rule actions, finally tried removing the sensor from abode itself and re-adding it. Adding a new sensor to Abode extends into the child device list in HE but not re-adding that one. Turned on debug and trace in the driver but I don't see anything blaring at me. It acts like HE has a black list or something I don't have access to. I have tried everything I can think of to get that child contact sensor to list in HE again. I could simply buy another contact sensor and replace the problem one but that seems like giving up.
Go to the Abode parent device. Hit refresh then "Save Preferences" and see if that does it.
A second thing to try is to power cycle your hub and see if the Abode child device is recognized after that.
If not, your best bet is to post in the Abode 2024 driver thread.
Fixed it with the help of a coding AI. Showed it the code and the error from the debug log. It came up with a few changes. Thank you to those who chimed in. ![]()
