I fair assumption I’m not alone with this setup, I have a house full of hue downlights and have now started using the new adaptive lighting app.
I thought by turning the only adjust lights if they are on option in the app I would get some sort of pre staging which doesn’t appear to be the case.
Is this a hue restriction ?
I have a mixture of hue downlights from the early gen 1 (115mm cutout) to the current versions.
I use room lighting for the automations with all living areas based on motion.
All lights are connected through a bridge pro and use the native Hubitat integration. (Is this still the recommended way ?)
In room lighting a have the light type as “switch as I want to leave the temp and level to adaptive lighting to sort.
There is an easier way of utilizing Room Lighting, Adaptive Lighting, and Hue bulbs via the built-in integration. Set everything up as follows:
Create a Hub Variable in the settings page. Call it something like Adaptive Lighting CT or whatever you prefer.
In Adaptive Lighting, set up the Hub Variable to be modified with the values. This should keep your Color Temperature values active as a variable for use in Room Lightning.
Setup your Hue bulbs as CT devices rather than switches.
For CT values, have it be set via Variable. Select the Hub Variable that is affiliated with Adaptive Lighting.
With this setup, Room Lighting will send a setColorTemperature command when activating the Hue bulbs. It should minimize the wrong CT color. Once activated, Adaptive Lighting should take over and adjust them slightly for as long as they are on.
