Activity log in the Dashboard

Is there any way to show a filtered list of activities in a Dashboard? I'd like to see the last 10 activities for my doors in a tile. I'm aware I can look at history on individual tiles and I can create a tile for last status. Looking for an at-a-glance list of recent activities.

That is not available through the default tile templates in Hubitat. There are several community based solutions for creating dynamic tiles that contain more information. For example, What did I Say provides a list of recent notifications. So, you could set up RM rules to add an announcement to this device every time something happens. I do caution you thought, what would be required to generate this is going to be very resource heavy on the hub and you are likely to cause slow-downs to your other automations. So, whatever you are trying to monitor is going to be slower than it is today. Usually people are trying to monitor because of slow-downs so I don't want you making things worse.

Thanks for the quick reply! That's kind of a bummer. We'll make do for now.

It's been a few months and I want to resurrect this thread. What I'd like to accomplish is remotely viewing a list of events, mostly motion sensors, without getting push notifications. Right now I get push notifications for door contacts. I can go into a dashboard I set up and navigate my way to history on a sensor. It's just too many steps.

If it's not possible to do this through Dashboards, is there another way to accomplish it?

I'm not sure if it's what you want, but for some time I used an app that would dump the activity of selected sensors to an google sheet.
Would that do it for you?

I also would like a tile displaying the nn last logs where nn is configurable.
I would add this on my sensor monitoring dashboard

Following this thread!

What do you mean "nn"? What is nn? A device you could select?

I don't think there is ever going to be a way to view logs on a dashboard. Logs are for the admin view, not for general users. The logs are available in the GUI. I don't want them clogging up my dashboard too. The dashboard is slow enough as it is. Now you want it loading all of your past logs every 2 seconds too?

hi,
your answer sounds like you are annoyed, sorry if this bugs you

nn last logs meaning number of last logs

if you choose nn to be 5, on a dashboard refresh it would display the 5 last log entries for the device you chose, or all ( like in the regular logs page), not every 2 seconds

also, the dashboards are created by admins, so I could create an admin dashboard for surveillance, if you don't want to show the logs to you general users, fine, but if I want a dashboard that shows the last temperature changes for a device ( a cellar or fridge for example), or the last 10 times a door was accessed, that is not a weird request at all.

thanks

The last example you gave is pretty much what I have in mind. When Iā€™m away from home I get the push alerts that Iā€™ve configured, but if Iā€™m not paying attention to that Iā€™ll miss them. It would be great to see that a door opened at 9am this morning. I donā€™t have this issue, but knowing when a kid arrived home if you miss the push notification would be useful. Maybe a bad example, but hopefully it gets my point across.

Something like this dashboard shows with the HSM activity tile? I copied the idea shown in that dashboard using the Follow Me community app/driver.

Well, I think I got it working but that was a lot of effort. Thanks for the pointer!

What app did you use to dump activity to google sheet?
I just moved from SmartThings, and was using a similar logging app; and now looking for hubitat app. Thanks!
