Accessing LZF files

Is there any way to unpack or read lzf backup files?

My C-4 died before I could get my C-7 hub up and running (not a painless step and I put off, now even harder).

I've soft reset my C-4. Then tried to restore the LZF backup and it causes my C-4 to hang at 10% (left for days and never got past 10% -- tried a number of times with a number of different backup files).

When I try to import my C-4 LZF backup into my C-7 my C-7 hangs at 20% or 60% and requires a soft reset.

I'd really like to get my apps back --Really my Rules are the most complex and I'd hate to have to reinput all those (let alone trying to remember them all).

Would a dev like to see if they can load my LZF? But then I'm not even sure that the rules could be exported in a human-readable format???

Open to any suggestions. Thanks.

what you did should have worked, it sounds like parts of the backup file are corrupted.

Thanks for the mental jog.

So I found one LZF from 2019-05 and that loaded both hubs up (unfortunately for me, there are 4 Rules instead of my 50-ish). So I went hunting and found one from 2020-12.

So, would my failing C-4 cause a corrupted backup file? Or just by chance something happened to this one backup?

memory bits going bad?, just a guess...

@SRWhite had exactly that occur on two of his C-4 hubs over the summer. Came home to dead hubs and then found out the backups were corrupted. The fear is, of course that we're nearing the day when the Memory chips hit their write limits.
