A newbie question about posting

I started the topic " Need To Know When My 220V (US) Dryer Is Done" in the Lounge/Debate Chamber and went over to it 5 minutes ago to add something and saw the following:

"This topic was automatically closed 24 hours after the last reply. New replies are no longer allowed"

Why? Could someone explain the reasoning/rules.

I think it’s because you created it in the debate chamber. I moved it to the Lounge. It’ll stay open.

The debate chamber category is the outlet for threads that run close to violate the community rules but don't quite meet the criteria to be closed by our community moderators. Topics in that category are automatically closed faster than any other category in this forum.

You didn't do anything wrong, no need to feel pressured to select the appropriate category/subcategory. There are plenty of folks here who would be able to help you out. Welcome aboard!
