Trying to add Homekit gets a 500 error (aka Hubitat Server Rejects it). Makes me concerned no one tests their work at hubitat. @support_team
Which Homekit integration? There are two.
OP: The post is too generic. All integrations and apps get extensive back end testing.
So let me ask:
1- Which are you trying to add? HomeKit Controller or HomeKit Bridge
2- What have been your steps, and failures on the set up?
3- What HE model
4- What firmware
5- ETC
Breakdown of the differences:
- HomeKit Bridge: Exports your Hubitat devices into Apple Home so you can control them using the Apple Home app or Siri.
- HomeKit Controller: Imports "Works with HomeKit" smart accessories into Hubitat so you can automate and control them locally from Hubitat (requires Hubitat Elevation C-8 Pro, platform 2.4.2 or later).
HomeKit Controller is what I am adding. I have a HomeKit orb device. My new C-8 Pro is 34:E1:D1:XX:YY:ZZ. Running 2.5.2.139
Adding Integrations/ Homekit controller HomePod mini to Hubitat C-8 Pro 2.5.2.139
I really dont like being the debug resource for Hubitat. This stuff should be tested and work.
Further, it should NEVER be getting a 500 error (Internal Server Error) on the Hubitat C-8 Pro. That means its not working and NOT tested
Again, this stuff is tested........
First lets do this because this could be a bonjour issue.
- Go to Settings > Reboot Hub in your Hubitat UI.
- Check the box that says Rebuild database on reboot.
- Click Reboot.
- Crucial: Once the hub comes completely back online, reboot it one more time normally (without the database check).
Documentation of HomeKit controller:
What's with all the hostility? You ran into an issue. It happens. It's not the end of the world. Do you want help or not?
I don't think you understand the purpose of the HomeKit controller integration. It should not be used to add a HomePod to Hubitat. HomePods should be added via the "AirPlay integration".
Sorry for hostility. Spent (wasted) 6 hours on multiple failing Hubitat issues.
You are correct. Will check it out.
