30 amp relay for my pool

Looking for a Z-Wave relay that will handle 30 amps to control my pool pump. I want to replace the old mechanical timer.

Google says Zooz or Shelly.

There was a thread on this back in 2019 with some ideas in.

One of the responses linked to a switch on Amazon but it seems it's not available any more.

You might have to use some kind of dry-contact relay approach, something like this but i'm not sure this will work with HE.

This is what you need

Advertised as weatherproof, YMMV.

If you have an enclosure you can make your own. A simple Zigbee or Zwave smart switch to control a 120VAC contactor coil which in turn can switch up to 40A load, plenty for most pool pumps.

and....

Heavy Duty Switch - Aeotec 40A and HE driver.

I built my own a few years ago and went with something similar... a DPST (Double Pole, Single Throw) Relay. I used a Raspbery Pi because I was also controlling a couple of Jandy Valves as well and put all the logic within.

Obviously, since I went down a similar path, it's quite straightforward to do. If you JUST want the one function, a fully enclosed, ready-to-use solution is probably a better choice.

I use the hi-amperage Aeotec switch noted by @RobDaBush to control power to a buffer tank in a hydronic radiant heating system that uses 7000W. In fact, I have these in each of two buildings. They are often on for as much as seven hours and work very well. No issues at all.

I used the WiFi version of this model for several years and it did well.

Agreed. The ZEN78 is a very nice device. I like that it has power monitoring, and the switch input is dry contact (well, actually 3v DC) and can support/trigger scenes. Also includes a built in temp sensor for customizable freeze alerts. It's not weatherproof, however, so it will need to be in another enclosure if you need to mount it outside.
