2.5.0xx firmware update failed

I have three C7 HE's that were all running the latest 2.4.4.xxx firmware. My primary one, which I'm glad I started with first, upgraded with no issues. The other two, which are remote to me, both never came back. I had one of them checked on and the LED was solid blue. They unplugged that unit, waited 1 min, and plugged it back in. Upon rebooting, the LED went back to green, but the firmware went back to 2.4.4.xxx too. I'm sure I will need to power cycle the other HE, but nobody will be there for 2 weeks. Is there an issue with updating these hubs remotely, through the Remote Admin portal?

reboot with a database rebuild, then make sure your network speed on the hubitat is set to auto then try again.

I had this issue as well. I found if you update software from the remote admin section it works fine.. Bringing up the HE GUI was what was blocking my update.

This method worked. I've never had this issue before. Maybe it's related to being a major update? Although I've done those before.

FYI @gopher.ny

seems to impact C7s as well. Not sure if upgrade via the web page instead of the remote access GUI is much of a clue but its quite repeatable.

Would be a huge help if the hardware had some fail safe built in. "Hey, I've been stuck in a boot up phase for quite some time, let me reboot myself and revert."

I have a WiFi smart plug on my Hubitat so I can power cycle it remotely. Kind of crude but when you are 1000 miles away you need these sort of backdoors to recover a hung up system.

Send me which model you have please. I thought of a remote outlet, but then my mind immediately went to zwave or zigbee and how it wouldn't work in this situation. My place is 500 miles away, so half the distance, but I have zero remote hands until someone goes there. Luckily I was already planning on being there in 2 weeks.

I use these but there are several types. They are directly controlled via an app in my phone. Not controlled by Hubitat....

I use one of these on my cable modem router...
