[2.1.1 build 314] Android mobile app feedback

I really like the new beta build with all devices now showing and ability to edit the attributes, similar to easy dashboard :grinning:

Below are some general feedback (using Samsung S25 Ultra):

  • swiping back or pressing the back button on the phone always goes to the "Home" screen instead of staying on the current page or just going back one step.
  • Auto Rotate does not work, the app is always in portrait mode, this is not ideal for tablets.
  • Toggling WiFi with the app open shows a network error, with a static "reconnecting to hub message".
  • It would be great if devices could be visible under cloud mode as favourites and dashboard do show all selected devices.

Thanks for a great update.

flagging: @moncho1138

Sorry to rain on the parade. v2.1.1 build 314 is pretty awful. Samsung S23 flagged it for frequent crashes and recommended putting it into a deep sleep to improve stability. The GUI flashes and bounces around when I return to the running app. Have noticed this for a while. Was brought into sharp focus when the mobile phone pleaded for relief.

A screen shot from my Samsung S23 -- Put Hubitat mobile to sleep

I see the same flickering but dont seem to have the power issue.
I was get sone errors that i posted last week

How many notifications does yours show?
Mine say 4 but only ever shows 2.

Sorry. I do not know how to get the crash count. Just FYI ... I have NOT enabled GeoFence.

Was the notifications,.it only ever shows 2

If you updated the app in place, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if that resolves the problem?

@moncho1138, few more observations in addition to 1st post:

Sorry. I do not allow Hubitat to send notices.

At your suggestion, I uninstalled & installed the mobile beta app. No improvements. Still jumpy. Samsung S23, Android 14 -- patched to latest levels published by Samsung.

I modified the "Doors" dashboard yesterday and seems to have screwed up the dashboard icons. My "Doors" dashboard icon text is unreadable. See the 1x1 size icon -- they used to be readable. Tried 1x2 for other icons -- still not so great.

Other dashboards are readable at 1x1.

I can verify this...you cannot scroll down to see any favorites past the first 6 in your list...screen just stops scrolling. My example below... you can just see the top edges of the 7th and 8th favorite (of 11 total) but cannot scroll down to see any past the first six.

The favorites fixed size is fixed on the next beta build.

And the broken Home screen settings? (I hope!)

As of 2.1.1 build 320, the two issues I was seeing are fixed.

  1. Home elements displayed weren't respecting settings
  2. Couldn't scroll down to see more than six favorites tiles
Both are fixed for me. Thanks, @moncho1138!
