Found a good article on Thread best practices, fiquired i’d share. I didn’t realize Thread and Zigbee used the exact same channels/frequencies and Apple defaults to the VERY popular channel 25.
Most of the tips are totally valid for zwave and zigbee as well.
“could”? sure, it’s “possible”, but if you are not having zigbee / thread issues i wouldn’t mess with it. If wifi and zigbee can coexist on the same frequencies without issue, so can thread and zigbee. I dont think most people will have an issue with it.
ultimately, I think it’s going to be highly dependent on your specific RF environment on weather or not you should separate them or if it even makes a difference.
