Zwave repeater for lock

I have a zwave lock that is about 30 ft. And two walks away from the hub that isn’t working or reporting state. The locked worked when the hub was close to the lock so I am looking into improving my mesh to get the lock working. What are people using to improve their mesh for secure transmission? Preferably a plug-in appliance module that also supports energy reporting.

Iris smart plug from Lowes, works phenomenal and it was at $9.50, I still found one today in a service visit in one of my area stores. It repeats Zigbee and Z-Wave.

Yep. That's the one.

Look for the older model, same device older box, cheaper, if they are available.

Just a heads up,

If you are ever going to get into using the xiaomi sensors avoid these (especially the 3210-L model) as they don't play well with each other. From what I could remember I had to enable the zigbee to get the zwave working as well so I could not avoid it. (Just like to mention this as the xiaomi products are very popular).

For my zwave network I had a few devices in the path that were also repeated so it helped my mesh. I had to add a plug outside for my pool sensor though. Ended up adding the following and it works fine. Its also an outdoor plug that I use on my garden lights.

Grabbed a couple of the newer lowes versions with zwave plus this afternoon. Zigbee paired right off the bat but I am having a little trouble with zwave pairing. Do you guys have any tips? What driver are you using?

How did you trying pairing the z-wave?. I had to do 8 light presses on the button but not actually pushing it in. Then it paired.

All my 6 switches paired with the procedure above, it will use the generic zwave repeater driver automatically.

We’re these 3210-L2 models? I can’t get them to pair with s long press or 8 presses. Also, there’s no soft press.

Maybe try doing an exclusion first. Couple of times I have to unplugged and try again with 8 quick presses twice. This is with the 3210-L model though.

What is the exclusion process?

On the web browser, open a log page of your hub, open another page and on your hub, go to settings, z wave info, z wave exclude, push 8 times the plug button. You should get in the log a device was excluded, probably without a name, you will see something like AB:CD:EF:12:34 in the logs.

They are a little tricky but after you pair them they work, I have 5 of them working. I read somewhere that the 8 presses must be within 2 seconds.
