Zwave Device Class Prefix: ROUTING_SENSOR

C7, Platform Version
2.4.3.164

On my Z-Wave device page, I see some device classes of "ROUTING_SENSOR_BINARY" for a battery-powered motion sensor.

The same type of motion sensor, however is also referred to as "NOTIFICATION_SENSOR." I wonder what is the difference here?

These battery powered devices AFAIK doesn't and shouldn't really act as a router. Perhaps related, one of the devices (together with many other hard-wired devices) always fails a "Z-Wave Rebuild." Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Finally, should I consider removing the devices and re-adding them? If so, what's the best way to reset a few Z-Wave devices w/o changing the rule machines?

Thanks a lot!

Z-Wave ROUTING_SENSOR_BINARY is a command class used for binary sensors that can report on or off states, such as motion detection or door/window status. It allows devices to communicate their status to the controller and can also participate in routing messages within the Z-Wave network.
A device using the Z-Wave ROUTING_SENSOR_BINARY command class can indeed be battery-powered.
