I would appreciate comments on my app to reboot if zwave crashes. Seems I recall that the local variable will be reset following a reboot of the hub.
Looks good to me. A local variable will not reset with the hub reboot, as far as I know…
Does a reboot do anything for a Z-Wave crash? I know that for a proper Z-Wave reboot, power must be removed from the hub - I wonder if this wold also apply here…
First time zwave crashed I had to do a full hub shut down, rmu power, wait 3 minutes, and power back up. This time I simply did a hub reboot and everything started working again. Both crashes happened close to 5:49 am and about 5 days apart. I don't have any apps running at that time as best I can tell. Thanks for your comment.
Long range I will work on a power down/rmu power commanded by another hub, delay and repower.
Does anyone know of a way to programmatically detect a z-wave crash to send a notification or invoke a routine to attempt a fix? Mine also always seems to crash in the middle of the night with no active activity.
A Rule Machine rule can be triggered by a “zwaveCrashed” Loaction Event.
