Can any one that has one of these confirm that the "acceleration" (vibration sensor) works with the Native Zooz Motion Sensor ZSE 18 driver. If so I would like to see if you're using the default preferences or what you are using while it's working?
I just got one of these yesterday and the motion part works fine, the vibratiton sensor has yet to work.
Yes it works, but it requires about 8 seconds of constant vibration before it changes to active.
If I remember correctly, Zooz was going to look into either making it more sensitive or adding a configuration parameter that makes it adjustable, but I'm not sure where that stands...
@krlaframboise I'll be dang, that does work. I tapped on it for about 8 sec. and it went active.
BUT... that doesn't help much that it takes that long.
Thanks for answering this and I confirm my does do just as exactly what you state.
On the other hand I"m HIGHLY disappointed in Zooz (which I have many of their devices and usually am a fan of) with this device. They should NOT advertise this attribute for this device with this specification, until this IS CHANGED, There is no scenario I can imagine that someone would ONLY want the device to trigger "active" ONLY after 8 repeated seconds of activity. I bought this device based upon the "vibration sensor" in combination with the motion sensor to send a notification ONLY IF BOTH are triggered. Under the use case I have for this device never will there be 8 continuous seconds of vibration.
Unfortunately I will have to try and work around this with the motion sensor only. Good news is I planned on order more of these, but have now changed my mind.
Thanks for your comments on this one. Our concerns with the vibration sensor were that it would be too sensitive otherwise and it turned out to be a real challenge to make the feature configurable. We'll keep working on making it more of an instant vibration sensor and will provide a firmware update file once that's achieved. We appreciate your patience!
