Zooz zse11 reports battery - on lines

Does anyone know if there is a driver for this unit that accurately reports the power source?

Currently I have one of mine on lines power with the battery removed and it still reports power source as battery, with a battery level of 1.

TIA

Mine should be able to handle it even if you pair it one way and then switch it later. I tested it pretty heavily. I also have a command to override it, in case it gets detected wrong.

I installed the driver but still seeing battery as source

It has not synced up at all. If you unplug and re plug it might send out that it’s on mains. Otherwise use the command button to manually set it. Then once it is set to mains run configure.

That fixed it! Thanks. If I put a battery in it, set it on mains, wondering if it will change to battery if the power goes out. What do you think?

I forget what it does, I have tested a bunch of different stuff with batteries unpluging and replugging, etc... You could test easily by putting a battery in and unplugging it. BUT I am not sure if it is designed to work that way. It may draw off the battery just because its in there, or possibly it will back feed some voltage to the battery and cause it to leak.

The driver makes its best effort to detect the current power source based on what messages the device sends out. I remember the ZSE18 and ZSE11 were both slightly different in how they reported things.

I ordered a ring alarm extender, which a lot of folks say does that job, it gets here tomorrow.

I plan to use that to shutdown my hubs gracefully when the power gets iffy, as happens in Florida during storms. When Helene went through it went up and down like 10 times and corrupted my C7 database, had to do a restore. My C8 is on a UPS. Both need to be
