I've had a ZEN-31 running a short set of strip LEDs for about 18 months. I'm running at 24V and total about 0.5 A. It is on 4 hours a day, everyday.
All of a sudden it stopped working. In my troubleshooting I did a factory reset then repaired. It kind of worked but eventually stopped responding. The Z-Wave table shows it connecting at 40k, however the two Zooz dimmers 3 feet away connect at 100k.
When I was able to get it to respond, the outputs seemed to work fine so the issue seems to be radio or controller.
I had a ZEN31 which was a pain in SmartThings and when I migrated it to HE, it worked better but had difficulty setting the color. Didn't find a better driver for HE so bought the well liked Gledopto Zigbee Ultra Thin Mini RGBCCT controller on AliExpress for ~$12. Works great. Glad to be rid of the Zen31 (happy to send it to anyone that wants it for the cost of postage.)
Yes, had to play with the orientation of the plastic tool that came with it. You need it oriented correctly and press it before you insert a wire. Then release pressure and it usually grabs the wire. Can take a few tries but eventually grabs the wire tight. See pic attached.
Thanks I finally got it. I was afraid to press too hard not knowing the proper orientation of what to expect. Fortunately I don't have to change wires (hopefully ever, if have a small JST type connector that allows me to disconnect from the LED strip).
