Not sure what I am doing wrong. When I first paired the Zen16 I could hear the contacts fire...now I cant. I see the device in my list and my tilt sensor is detecting open/closed status but no relay fire. Here are a few screenshots...been working on this all day and cant find what I need in the search. I ran the Zwave repair and get a failed node. I removed & excluded the device, included it again and the same error. These are my only Zwave devices...not sure where to go from here.
Someone with better Z-Wave knowledge might be able to confirm this, but I think an RSSI value of -6dB is quite low. It is possible that your hub is having trouble communicating with the Zen16.
You could bring your hub closer to see if it helps and if so, might want to consider getting a Z-Wave repeater to place somewhere in the middle of the path between your Hub and our Zen.
Definitely contact Zooz support. They are extremely responsive and will work with you until they resolve your issue, which might include replacing your device.
Welcome to Hubitat community!
I agree. I don't know how to read these exactly, but that does seem quite low to me too.
With only two devices, you are not going to have a very good signal to the devices. Maybe if they are in close proximity to the hub, but even then with Zwave more is better. I typically tell people it takes about a dozen or so devices to start to build enough mesh to really get Zwave stable.
With only two devices, and one of which (by what I see) is battery operated (NOT a repeater) you really are only relying on this one device to build a mesh. You need more repeaters, either line powered devices, OR a dedicated repeater like the inexpensive and effective Ring repeater.
Thanks for the quick responses. I ordered a Ring repeater to put in between the hub and relay. If there are still problems I'll contact Zooz.
