Has anyone had issues with the C-8 hubs having problems with staying connected to the ZAC36 water valve? I've had mine paired without problems to my C-5 and C-7 for some time, however, when I pair it to my C-8 it stops communicating after a couple of days. I've experienced this with two different C-8s. In both cases, the ZAC36 was directly connected to the C-8 reporting excellent RSSI, but then without an obvious reason just stopped reporting and fails a refresh/repair.
I'm on the latest firmware for both the C-8 and the ZAC36 and it's paired without security.
For now, I've taken it off the C-8 hoping someone else has run into similar issues and may have a resolution.
I have a ZAC36 and it has been working fine since I switched to the C-8. Paired without security and almost always directly. I just looked at my events and it seems to have never fallen off.
Not sure what that means for you, other than that there is no inherent incompatibility between the C-8 and the ZAC36.
Mine has been working fine. I have it on my activity checker so if it stopped responding I would know within 24hrs. Mine is S2 Auth and direct.
I am using my custom driver on it, it should not make a difference really unless the system driver is sending it something it does not like for some reason.
I have one I migrated from C7, and I've had no issues with connectivity - it's been solid.
I'll likely be installing a second one in the next few days (need to see how a tight-space plumbing project turns out) -- if that goes as planned, I'll try to remember to circle back here with results.
@jtp10181, Would it be possible sometime to add Parameter 99 to your driver? Pretty please with cherry on top? In my case, 99's been a very helpful option, so easier access to tweak/refine that setting would be muy bueno. Thanks for consideration - all your Zooz drivers kick butt!
Well if all of you have successfully had yours stay connected without issue, then obviously there's something specific to my setup that's causing the problem. Back to the drawing board....
System. I honestly didn't even know you had made one for this (I use yours for most of my sensors). Honestly, my automations are very basic and I haven't really felt the need to access anything else, but I'll read up what your driver opens up to see if it sparks any ideas.
Well unfortunately my ZAC36 stopped responding again after a couple of days. I guess it's not meant to be for me.
Not sure if this matters but while the ZAC36 wouldn't respond to commands it did happily accept an exclusion command, makes me think that the problem isn't with my ZAC36. Also I've used it on my C-5 and C-7 without issue for over a year.
Do we know what part of the firmware on ZAC36 is responsible for the issue? We do have a C8 in-house to troubleshoot so if you believe the device is responsible or if you'd like us to try replicating the issue, please start a support request here and our technicians will look into it for sure.
