As stated, I have a few Zooz switches but am having problems with a zen23.
The switch operates manually, reports physical evens when I check the hub/device/events.
When I operate with through the dashboard it doesnt not operate, just freezes for a few moments and a dashboard refresh shows no change in status.
What is the first trouble shooting step?
I already removed the tile, and readded. It worked one time and then the same thing.
Does the device exhibit the same symptoms if you use the devices tab? Or is it just a problem with the dashboard? Assuming the former, I've found when devices like that become unresponsive there's usually something up with my zwave mesh. What's the device's path back to the hub, and what does the health of that path look like? You can get an approximation of that by looking at the zwave details page off the setup tab. The RSSI across each hop, the average ms response time, and the number of times the route has changed. If the route changes number is large (compared to other devices) that can be an indication the hub is struggling to maintain a path to the device. And are there any ghost zwave devices showing up? That could also be an issue.
@brad5 Wasnt working from the device side, nor the dashboard.
interesting twist is that i removed it from the dashboard, added it again and it worked once. And then dead - as in not even physical switching.
You can't even switch it on/off from the wall? That usually indicates a problem with the device itself. (It died)
There are community based drivers that work excellent, and I like over the built-in driver, but none of that does any good if you have a defective device.
Alas. Since it looks like you may have to replace the switch anyway, let me put in a brief plug (pun intended) for Lutron Caseta. Separate hub, need the pro hub, but great alternative to zwave switches.

One last thing (from personal experience with zooz switches):
I suggest that you turn off the breaker associated with this switch, wait a few seconds then turn it back on.
I've had a number of zooz switches that just get "stuck" -i.e. they won't operate from the device page and they won't operate from the switch itself.
This somehow "un stucks" the switch.
