Just installed an EVALogik ZW315 wall dimmer switch. Before inclusion, I selected "EVALogik Dimmer" as the driver. Inclusion was successful but It now shows the driver as a "Zooz Zen74 S2 Dimmer".
Should I leave it alone or try to switch drivers. It seems to work okay.
So, I'm not sure what to recommend. If it works, I suppose there's not a lot of reason to change, but I'd probably pick "Generic Z-Wave Plus Dimmer" or something similar over a Zooz-specific driver, lest that one try to set any parameters that aren't available or work differently on your device. If there's an EvaLogik-speciifc dimmer driver, maybe try that, too, though I don't see one off-hand.
I can tell you that the selections you make in the UI do not affect what driver gets used for pairing--it's just there to help figure out the protocol (Z-Wave, Zigbee, etc.) and provide pairing instructions in the UI, if available. Ultimately, the same as if you just did a Z-Wave inclusion below using the buttons yourself, but theoretically more friendly. Providing the fingerprint by temporarily switching to the "Device" driver, running the "Get Info" command, and copying/pasting the "fingerprint..." line from "Logs" that will be sent to that ouput when you run this command would help match this up better in the future (with whatever that driver may be, should there actually be one)--if you feel like providing that. This is how the matchup is done.
Thanks for the info. I think I've seen that behavior before when selecting a driver for inclusion and then having it pick a different one. I did change it to "Generic Z-Wav Plus dimmer" and it seems to work the same, but I'll leave it there.
