The Current Status doesn't report a motion capability at all. Motion is never reported in the logs either.
I've forced a number of resyncs, I've excluded and included again. And now, even though I've awoken the device and the logs showed it syncing, the device properties page doesn't reflect the sync has occured. Finally, the temperature is way off. Illuminance and battery seem to be reported correctly. The device is detecting temperature and motion, I can see it strobe the led.
Did you make sure to close the battery door before discovering the sensor? I have found that these won't setup correctly if the "tamper" alert is active.
Yes. Per the instructions, make sure it's closed tight.
Try pairing it a little closer to the hub? Maybe it's a signal strength issue? Sometimes I find devices that are farther from the hub function perfectly, but won't include/exclude properly at the same location.
I have two of these working perfectly with my hubitat so I don't think it's an issue with the driver.
I have 3 of these. Though I've had trouble with all of them on HE, not this kind of trouble.
I'm suspecting I need to return this one, just got it.
Remove the device, factory reset it, and then include it again.
After including it, make sure you use the paperclip to wake the device up. If after 30 seconds it still shows changes pending, wake it up again, and repeat until it shows synced.
Don't tap configure or it will resend all config changes and most likely won't end up syncing the ones you're trying to.
Right now I'm stuck at the initializing after following those instructions with the factory reset in between pairings.
I've read other threads on this particular subject. I've forced it awake according to the manual a dozen times, still sitting here. Of course the manual also reports the only thing that works for these guys for pairing (7 zwave button clicks) as a troubleshooting step, so...
At this point, I'm just gonna leave it here on initializing and see what happens. Other's said that worked in other threads (hours? seriously? I can't believe it). I'll report.
Almost an hour and still sitting here on Initializing.
Ya, I can't get it to work. I've had similar pairing problems with other Zooz on HE, but not to this extent.
Each time I exclude it...
infoUnknown Z-Wave device excluded.
I suggest to look with something else, I think you have a ghost. I had one from one same 4 in 1.... you can try to pair there too.
TBH, I'm so sick of fighting with zwave on this platform.
I was too, but I been from 9/20 with zero issues and I feel relax right now. Good luck.
NLiterally 21 times I’ve excluded, factory reset and included this device. It finally paired quicly. Then I woke it with 7 button clicks and it reported everything.
In between my attempts on HE (at about 13 attempts on HE), I included it on my ST and it reported everything instantly. Something is definitely wrong on the HE side.
I had a similar problem
- Newly added device paired quickly, picking correct device type. But it didn't include motion in capabilities. No changing of drivers, pushing buttons, configuring seemed to make a difference. So I removed/excluded device.
- Added device again (after factory reset). Hub identified a new z-wave device, but stalled in gathering configuration info. Did not get added to z-wave device page. So I restarted hub. No exclusion necessary.
- Added again (after factory reset), paired quickly, had all capabilities, seems to be working correctly
So there does seem to be an issue with adding - not sure with where.
