I have a zipatile which has a whole bunch of sensors that I’d like to see if I can integrate with hubitat in someway. I use it as my on wall dashboard/panel just running a web browser at the moment.
It supports MQTT - which I know very little about but understand I might be able to use this protocol to access the sensor data from hubitat. Could anyone point me some hints as to where I might start ?
This will be possible using my MQTT app, currently in alpha testing. I even have a ZipaTile to test against.
However the MQTT implementation on ZipaTile 1 is poor. Really just sensor support. ZipTile 2 maybe better if it ever ships. ZipaBox has a better MQTT implementation but all in all the support and future of this company is quite a concern.
Yeah, the number of delays surrounding the shipping or zipatile 2 leaves a big question mark. To be honest, I just like the way it looks on the wall, more of a “professional” look than a standard tablet. Although it’s slow and sluggish, I can’t update the version of webview used which causes a few issues..
Happy to be involved in testing at the right time..
Thank you. I already forgot about the zipatile 2... It was supposed to get in production after Chinese New year. But apparently it still isn't. I was a possible customer for them before I was publicly told to fuck off by the owner of the company because I kinda asked around on their forum about quality and support for it. They removed and banned me afterwards. Such a warm welcome
But it was actually a positive thing I now know, because that was my start of being pointed towards HE
