One last point which may or may not be applicable to you.
Whenever it's cold, ALL batteries tend to drain very quickly.
I find that batteries in my lock tend to last 50% quicker over the winter months - because no matter how they have insulated the battery compartment, it still tends to get cold, which causes battery drain.
If you're in southern Arizona or California, please disregard this piece of advice.
I don’t know what lock you have, but this approach didn’t work on the Schlage BE469.
