Hi.
I am new to hubitat and need some help.
I have 14 zigbee shades in a 2000sqft home. They work well, but sometimes some of the shades do not respond to the rules engine and I have to run the rule again.
Is there a way to create a rule that within a certain time it checked the position of the shade to make sure the rule was follow, and if not, execute the rule again?
One of the issues I had is that I have set up the downstairs blinds to open at 6am. This morning 2 of the 6 (the hub is downstairs without obstructions to the shades) did not follow the rule. I ran the rule again and those 2 adjusted.
I know I can clone the rule and have it run a few minutes later but I am trying not to have to go that route with duplicated rules.
Thank you
Can you setup groups and use metering? Sending the same command to multiple devices at once can cause issues. Metering can put a delay between each command. If the shades have a switch capability you could do that.
My shades are RF and I use a Bond hub, but I had the same issue.
I setup my rule to put a 3 second delay between each command to lower a shade, when I do the close shades routine in the evening.
How do I set up metering within a rule?
I just put a delay between each command.
[edit]It looks funny, there seems to be a issue, which I have seen before, I am using a variable delay called Delay. The 3 seconds should be inside ().
Apparently this is because it is a 5.0 rule doesn't occur in a 5.1 rule.
Perfect! Thank you! I just updated mine to add the delays.
Have a great thanksgiving
