I did and do it's posted above it communicates daily. A device with a dead battery doesn't produce the communication activity. Call it wake up, polling, refresh, or spinning in circles, whichever you prefer. The end result is it attempts activity with the device and if the device doesn't have a dead battery it returns an activity log verifying I don't need to change the battery.
It's a little misleading in the log. When you press refresh on the detector device page. You will get this on the live log but it's not from the detector.
